★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Used the swimming pool which was nice. The rest of the hotel looked a bit shabby. The surrounding area is beautiful though. Like to try the sauna here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really cannot say enough about the beautiful Hotel-Resort Spaarnwoude. From the moment of our arrival, we were treated like "friends!" Thank you, Lex, Amanda, Merel, Peggy, Iliana, Sharon, Jacqueline and Beata!!! You all made our stay so wonderful. We were pleased with the hotel, the food, the grounds, etc.
Although we are giving 5 stars, we have one minor "observation" ...No transportation is offered. We realize that this hotel caters to locals and guests travelling Europe in their cars, but Americans flying in would greatly appreciate a ride! All-in-all, everything is super at the Hotel-Resort Spaarnwoude
Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Check in was bad. No one at reception for 20 minutes. The room was old and hidden behind a dining room up some shoddy stairs. Thin walls and tiny bathroom. At checkout many hidden extra costs. Staff was friendly, other than that no pros.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Door is not soundproof and walls are thin and you can hear all noises on the hall and from other rooms. Parking is far from the hotel near some trees and had no surveillance video cameras. There is no power socket near bed. All night there were annoying beating sounds from above. Breakfast was poor and old fruits.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you can imagine a hotel from Russia in the 1980's, you've probably got a good idea of what this place looks like. No plugs in the room next to the beds, decor from the post war USSR - most of which looks like it's seen heavy use - light switches are not next to the bed, the list goes on and on.
The beds are comfy, the rooms are quiet, but it's still next to a major A-road so it's not deathly quiet, but if you want any mod-cons from 1970's Western nations onward, forget about it, this place doesn't even have AC.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parking is pretty far from the hotel. No electric pole for cars to charge. We could barely find our way to the hotel from the parking as the lights out out on the walkway. They did not give us our welcome drinks. Rooms need a renovation. We could see some water leak on the sealing (room #34). No electrical outlet next to the beds. Light bulbs were screwed out a bit so it took a while to figure out why they don’t work. Dinner was average (we have a Fletcher hotel card so we know exactly what to expect). Breakfast was poor relative to other hotels. On check out we have to wait 15 min for someone to show up at the reception (10am). We had to walk to the restaurant to call someone out. No apology no nothing just charge the cards and bye…. Surreal experiences..…
