β β β β β Beautiful fortress with an interesting past. Very friendly staff, nice view, good coffee, and nice walk to the separation of the Waal and Rhine rivers.

β β β β β Perfect spot to visit with friends or family. Incredible panoramic views of the riverbanks and nearby cities such as Nijmegen.
Despite its strategic placement, the fort has not played any major role over the years. Nevertheless, the fort has a rich cultural history that can be explored via a guided tour or a sort of escape room/quest.
The nature area around the fort is home to some amazing wildlife. So donβt be surprised if you suddenly face a cow on your way to the fort.

β β β β β Nice historical place. Guide mostly speaks dutch but you can ask for english explanation. I liked the cannon ball shooting ?You can have a tea and a piece of delicious apple pie in the cafeteria.

β β β β β An act of vandalism against nature was carried out at the fort, several living trees were killed and chemical paint was poured. Nature will create mechanisms to take the guilty sadists out of being.
