Great place for great art by great tattoo artists. First freestyle experience and the results is above expectations. The tattoo is a unique piece, full of details, combining different styles and managed in 1 day (1/2 arm). Super great experience with the professional staff at Freedom and Flesh. Very detail oriented, which is obviously important for a tattoo shop. Great communication throughout the appointment making and design process. Staff were fun and friendly and definitely made sure you felt at home. Jenna has a very gentle touch, I was in the chair for an entire day and it was by far the best tattoo experience that I've had out of many. HIGHLY recommend getting some ink with these folks!

Cool chill spot. Staff was really accommodating and fun. The tat was a bit painful as she seemed to dig in. But they listened to how i wanted my homage to Amsterdam to look, except I wanted it to be fine and thinner. Otherwise love the shop, love my ink, love Amsterdam!!

I would like to give a rating of 6 stars out of 5 to Freedom & Flesh and Jay Freestyle. Jay is a freestyle artist: he asked me if I was ready to let go of my design suggestions, and he would make something beautiful with my underlying idea. He designed it the day itself, just before tattooing, and even drew some adaptations directly on my skin. He incorporated new elements in the design so it turned out much more beautiful than I could ever have imagined! I'm very, very happy with the result! Some parts are tattooed with photographic accuracy, the color gradient in the figure is stunning, there are tattooed paint splashes in the background that accentuate the main part, and linework flowers to keep balance with the more crowded colorful main part. All in my preferred colors. The price is on the higher segment. It is totally worth it because this is not "just a tattoo", this is real art. Jay has been working very focused for hours in a row. My skin was thoroughly examined as if it were a painting that was going to be perfectionalised. The shop in the center of Amsterdam is hygienic, well equipped and clean (I was there two days in a row and everything was cleaned overnight). The walls are full with prizes of tattoo conferences and fetish paintings. The shop is spatious and open with big windows. There is also a second, smaller room which offers more privacy. Although I was there during hot summer days, inside the shop the temperature was nice. There were four people working but not tattooing all at the same time, so when visitors came in there was always somebody ready to help. The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed, humoristic, and professional.

My boyfriend and I have wanted to get a tattoo done in Amsterdam to add to our tattoo collection ever since we have had it booked. We had our tattoos done as a walk-in by Romain (BlackSpirit Tattoo) and we are so happy with them. Romain took the time to help us make the decision of what design we wanted and where to have it. He was professional throughout and we are very happy with the detail and overall tattoo. The studio was clean and modern. There was tea/coffee + extras to help yourself to. There is a toilet but it’s very small (could do with being a bit bigger really or having more than one). The art in Freedom & Flesh Tattoo is incredible. The art is a specific taste and some people probably wouldn’t like it but I thought it was cool and imaginative.

This place is a fantastic tattoo shop right in the the heart of Amsterdam. The resident artists are extremely talented, very easy going and they reflect that with their carefully selected guest artists. The salon is comfortable, clean and they play a wide selection of music which certainly helps with longer sessions! The walls are decorated with very unique erotic art and a plethora of awards which is very impressive. Would highly recommend to both new and veteran tattoo enthusiasts alike.
