★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I bought the Freedom trail leaflet when I arrived at Arnhem railway station. I visited in June 2017 in order to visit sites of the battle that took place in 1944.
I self guided and carried out research before I went.
The Freedom trail was excellent, I started the trail on a Monday morning, it was a beautiful day and I had plenty of time.
The leaflet explains the individual locations in detail and their significance, I took many photos and the walk enabled me to get real feel for the battle armed with the knowledge that I already had.
The walk also gives you a chance to see Arnhem as a modern city. I took about six hours to complete the walk, including stopping for lunch and a beer or two.
If you have the time and want to do things at your own pace buy the guide leaflet and enjoy it.
