★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In augustus 2020 hebben wij de elfstedentocht ‘culinair’ gefietst, geboekt bij FrieslandHolland Travel Service BV. uit Wolvega.
Wij gingen voor de duurste variant, namelijk overnachting in 3 of 4 sterrenhotels en ’s avonds in het betreffende hotel een culinair 3 gangen menu.
Slechts in het WTC hotel in Leeuwarden hebben wij genoten van een voortreffelijk culinair 3 gangenmenu. In alle overige hotels kregen wij dezelfde driegangenmaaltijd als reizigers die voor de niet-culinaire variant en dus voor een aanzienlijk lager bedrag geboekt hadden bij FrieslandHolland of andere reisorganisaties.
Met uitzondering van het WTC in Leeuwarden liet ook de kwaliteit van een aantal overnachtingshotels zeer te wensen over, ons inziens geen 3 sterren waardig.
Naar onze mening heeft FrieslandHolland travel niet waargemaakt wat zij voor een aanzienlijke meerprijs verkopen.
Pas na 4 mails wilde FrieslandHolland Travel Service BV reageren en dat leverde alleen maar boze reacties op. Ondertussen hebben ze deze culinaire variant van hun website verwijderd.
 In August 2020 we cycled the Elfstedentocht 'culinary', booked with FrieslandHolland Travel Service BV. from Wolvega.
We opted for the most expensive variant, namely an overnight stay in 3 or 4 star hotels and a culinary 3-course menu in the evening in the relevant hotel.
Only in the WTC hotel in Leeuwarden have we enjoyed an excellent culinary 3-course menu. In all other hotels we received the same three-course meal as travelers who had booked for the non-culinary variant and therefore for a considerably lower amount with FrieslandHolland or other travel organizations.
With the exception of the WTC in Leeuwarden, the quality of a number of overnight hotels also left much to be desired, in our opinion not worthy of 3 stars.
In our opinion, FrieslandHolland travel has not lived up to what they sell for a significant additional price.
FrieslandHolland Travel Service BV only wanted to respond after 4 e-mails and that only resulted in angry reactions. In the meantime, they have removed this culinary variant from their website.
