Because of its historical ties with Gemaal Ankersmit in Deventer, Engineering firm Tauw made possible the restoration of a Worthington pump from the adjacent Prince Bernard lock. The Industrial Heritage Deventer foundation restored the pump to its former glory. It is a diesel-driven centrifugal pump that came to the Netherlands from the US in 1947 as part of Marshall Assistance. From 1951 this pump ran in Deventer to maintain the level on the Overijssel canal at the lock. On 10 September 2016, the restored pumping station - with the Worthington pump - was officially reopened during the monument day.
