The passage between the Damrak and the Nieuwendijk does not have an elegant glass roof, but the richly decorated terrazzo floors, tiled walls and the mosaic on the fifty-meter-long barrel vault make this lack more than good. Glass wall lamps in the form of bags of fries, ice creams and clogs and chandeliers, made of gilded cogwheels and other bicycle parts, provide the light that makes it possible to view the colorful mosaic. This visual feast of the neo-Baroque decorations is by designers Arno Coenen, Iris Roskam and Hans van Bentem. 'Amsterdam primal soup' shows animals and objects that are found in the Amsterdam canals. As if the visitors walk on the brownish floor of an Amsterdam canal, they see fish above their heads and rats in green, yellow and brown tones shoot through the water and wrinkly bicycles, shoes and other things that Amsterdammers throw in their canals.

Over-rated as a tourist attraction. Worth poking your nose into if you're passing by (which you almost certainly will be if you're spending any time at all in old Amsterdam), or if you're trained in art or architecture you'll find something to look at, but for the layman it's nice but nothing special.

It's very nice. Super short. 5 minutes top. Definitely worth a detour if you're in the area. Great lighting and interesting mosaics. Don't expect anything mind blowing though. It's free!

Nice place to see for a few minutes if you are in the area already.

Very nice and cozy passage... you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a cone of ice cream while enjoying the nice paintings on the walls and the ceiling...

Beautiful place to see, especially at night (in my opinion). You need around 5 minutes to spend in here, so even if you are short-timed, see it on your way to the train station!

Nice arcade located near Primark shop in center Amsterdam. You can enjoy nice mosaic. Good place for a photo. Are you find a fish? Put your hand in her mouth.
