I was there for a wedding party but in the later hours, the music became too loud to handle for me and a few others. I'm only 20 years old so I should be able to handle a loud party, but it was just too loud for me.
D	Diederik Everts on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sensational!!! Wow...what a wonderful hotel with amazing and attentive but unobtrusive staff. A real Gem of a beautifully converted mansion house in its own countryside grounds. We staid one night in the week before Christmas. The room was beautifully laid out and decorated. Huge bathroom with separate shower and bath and double sinks. Been looking back at some of the recent reviews on here. Seems this place reads them too. There are now slippers as well as bathrobes in all rooms. We also had a stunning 5 course meal in the restaurant that evening. One of the best I've eaten in years. Looking at some of the other reviews...I'm guessing there must be a new head chef overseeing the kitchen. And as this is a little bit off the beaten track, close to Meppel in the East of Holland the prices were just sensationally good value... astounding in fact. For sure I will be taking visitors to NL here again and recommending the Havixhorst to everyone. And to top off the experience. I realised a few days later that I had left a favourite pair of trousers in my room on checking out. I phoned and they had them and posted them to me at home and they would not let me pay the cost of postage. So customer care above and beyond anything I have experienced in a long long time.

a	agnes fabiola on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location and unique settings with ooievaar on top of the chateaus chimney, beautiful nature arouns. but the price is not worth it for such an old room so noisy from the wooden floor , thin ceilings you can hear people above walking and talking...no air conditioner and no breakfast included with the price, and the breakfast is not buffet, expensive also. Staffs are nice but not nice enough compared to the price we paid. But OK maybe the maintenance cost is high but still...felt ripped off by the dinner bills...?
