★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1st of Jan 2019, I lost my gold bracelet in the sands. I was so heartbroken I only realized it was gone when we were back home. We went back to search for it in the dark and was so disappointed as we did not find it. We took a chance and asked the restaurant staff if someone found a bracelet and if they happen to leave it there. To my luck someone had! I wish I knew who that person was "Thank you so much for finding it and returning it, what I thought was a bad start to the year changed. So thank you so much" :) :).
Thanks to the staff too... Happy 2019! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is on the foot of an enormous walking track, with dunes and trees. Giersbergen is a very old tiny town from the 12th century. You can walk, bike-ride or on horseback through the dunes for hours. The food in the 3 Linden is very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big restaurant next to a national park. Lots of outdoor seating, a kids playground, a Biergarten and a huge smoker for serious bbq-ing. I just got some fries to go here after doing a little hiking in the national park which weren't that good. It was very busy here due to some dog show. Not sure what it's like on a normal day. They look well organized. Good location to stop after a walk, bike or horse ride. Plenty of free parking available. Free WiFi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cosy bar with nice interior decorations. I went there during the crazy heat to hike through the hills of Drunen (yeah, I know. Not one of my best plans). But this place offered free ice water because of the heat. So dawm thoughtful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Felt very safe and 'spaced' on the terrace, warned us politely of the 6 o'clock curfew, fab cappuccino and no probs having a small glass of tap water alongside ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food looked nice, and the service was fast- but in our party one apple-bacon pancake served was undercooked, and they'd forgotten the bacon. They took it back and cooked it a bit more, but not enough. Later in the evening I didn't feel so good after having had the salmon roll- the presentation was nice, but the flavours felt unbalanced. The waitress we had really tried to fix things, the mess up wasn't her fault and I really appreciated her. She's what makes my review 2 stars instead of 1. The flammkuchen were alright, but not the best.
