In October, I sent three of my beloved SwissChamps off to HomeijNL, the Dutch agents for Victorinox, and received confirmation that they had been received on 28 October. All three had lost their magnifying glass. NB: I removed the toothpicks, tweezers, mini screwdrivers and pins before I packaged them just in case they were lost in transit – more about that later.
I was informed by the agents that the inspection and repair “would take about 14 weeks”, so I sat back for the long haul.
Today, JUST FIVE WEEKS LATER, I had an unexpected (and very welcome) mail call. All three of my clumpy darlings have been repaired, cleaned, and lubricated. In addition, the slots for toothpicks, tweezers, mini screwdrivers and pins I had left vacant were all filled by the diligent folk in Ibach.
Victorinox enjoys an unusual level of customer brand loyalty and that is clearly for good reason. As an all-round customer service experience, that proves the lifetime guarantee is more than just talk, Victorinox and HomeijNL both get five stars in my book!
