Hotel Monastère Maastricht - Boschstraat 71

Rooms were ok, but light sleepers should bring ear plugs. There is little noise insulation and street side rooms will be loud! My girlfriend asked if they have a vegan breakfast option. To our surprise they said yes and would arrange it the next morning! Guess what, they did not and she skipped breakfast. The rating however is because they managed to piss me off big time by taking advantage of me while I offered them a favor. These days booking is done online through websites. However more than ever I wanted the hotel to avoid the commission and keep all the money. Since this was during the worst Covid lockdown times. They accepted and: -I did not get a 'thank you'. (no problem, money goes to owners and staff probably couldn't care less.) -I did not get a better rate to thank me. No problem, I wasn't expecting anything. The idea was that the money goes to the hotel. -They overcharged me! They told me online prices are excluding tourist taxes. This is a lie. All prices I found are final prices. Now I could not care if it was 50 cent or 10 euros. You don't do this if someone offers to help you. It's just human decency! To anyone booking here, look up the price at booking.com or look up the price by looking for the hotel on Google. Even when you are in the lobby, book online. It costs them commission, but you will regret if you don't. It's like Uber versus a taxi on the street. Never will I make this mistake again.

Exclusive Room is nice; we had a duplex with stairs to the ‘bedroom’. Corona breakfast is a disappointment, we paid € 170 for 1 night so did expect more than a bag at the door handle with; see photo. Besides this, good location, friendly staff, good bed. A nice touch was the automatic bed light when you step out. That was new for me and I used to be a flight attendant..

I liked a lot the place. It has an elevator, nice bedroom and great breakfast ?. The location is very near to the center

We spent with my friend a really nice time. The hotel team was very kind and it's greatly located, close to everything. We recommend!

We would like to start by saying that the staff at the desk were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the first room we encountered had a used (dirty) toilet and a horrible smell… We were moved to a different room, which had a cleaner bathroom, but also a hair on the toilet seat. To make matters worse, there was no shower gel or tissues. We didn’t discover this until we were already in the shower, of course.

The hotel is very nice, very comfortable beds. However there are not wardrobes and the service from the employees at front desk was terrible. When trying to ask for a taxi employees at front desks ignored us and continued to talk among themselves ignoring us. Service was quite rude and unprofessional. Although the hotel was nice I will not return due to the service provided by staff at front desk.

This hotel was so unbelievably amazing. First, it's right in the heart of Maastricht. You're closer to everything (barring Covid restrictions). The staff is warm and friendly. They greeted us and got everything sorted. We're from noord-Holland and used Booking.com and got charged extra at hotel for a local tax, so watch out. The elevator has cool glass with painted concrete walls you can see. The 4th floor has spacious lofts and gorgeous bathrooms. Great hotel. Would stay again.

Superb hotel! Couldn't fault my experience. The room and en suite were beautiful, the level of service was impeccable and location very central. Highly recommend, would return again whenever I visit Maastricht.
