Hotel Restaurant de Loenermark - Eerbeekseweg 4

I have been living in the Netherlands for a long time! It is the worst hotel I have stayed in in this country !!! I am writing to you exactly from the room I have! It is 14 degrees !!! It is extremely cold! to start the heat !!!! They lied horribly! They only started for two hours !!!!! The worst stay in Holland because of this hotel!

Very dated rooms and general decoration in the hotel, in need of modernisation. The little interaction I had with staff was pleasant enough - friendly and efficient. The room (room 16) was warm but felt a little cramped. The bathroom had a toilet, basin and shower cubicle but no bath - be prepared when taking a shower for the water to CONSTANTLY change temperature when other guests are showering or flush their toilets!. No safe in the room, limited/basic tea making facilities in the room and it was a fairly residential area, with limited shops or amenities nearby. Breakfast was a fixed meal.....hard boiled egg, tea or coffee, fresh sliced white and wholemeal bread, fruit juice, some cold meat and cheese slices and a fruit yoghurt. Pleasant enough and helped get the day started, but it would have been nice to have had a choice to have had some cooked items (i.e. sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs etc), or cereals/muesli. The main town (Apeldoorn) was a 15-20 minute drive away from the hotel. Roads to / from the hotel were well maintained and it was easy enough to find the hotel (I used Google Maps to navigate my way from Dusseldorfs Weeze Airport, without any problems). Overall, even taking into consideration the hotels own star rating, I have stayed in more modern hotels which have slightly better facilities and breakfast options for similar prices. It was OK as a 'base' (a clean place to crash, get a quick breakfast and leave to see sights or do whatever you want to do - I was there for a 2 day rock & metal festival in Apeldoorn!), however, I would look for an alternative hotel if I was staying again nearby in the future.

The food is delicious and applauded for the chef but the rooms are not in the best condition. Food in the restaurant, however, compensates for this disgust. Breakfast is not too rich but you will not go out hungry.

We came in around 11 am and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and the chocolate pastry with cream and stayed to have their well prepared schnitzels... Great hospitality, thank you.

Nice staff, really helpful letting me store my bike in their shed. The room was nice with big windows and a balcony. The bathroom was a little on the small side, but sufficent. I'd stay there again if I was passing through.

Good hotel with a solid breakfast and helpful staff. Only travelled here on business but it's clearly a good base for a walking vacation in the forest that surrounds the hotel. We stopped for lunch and they offer a good choice of smaller dishes along with the heavier more traditional dishes from this region.

Inflexible and unfriendly The restaurant stated they were open for lunch. The entire inside area of the restaurant was empty. So we wanted to choose a table next to the window, but the bartender/waiter was irrationally adamant that the table was to be used for dinner and that we needed to sit it the designated, dark area of the restaurant. Mind it this was at 12:30pm. Clearly the tables could be served and cleaned in time for dinner. Sharing our story and the need for window and trying to connect didn't touch this human, it was important that rules are followed even when this doesn't make sense. It was really the tone, the lack of humanity, dismissiveness of the person that was very sad to witness. Why work in a service business with that attitude? Thankfully we found a place 7 minutes walking distance. And what a surprise, a restaurant that allows you to sit where you wish, as it should be, with the staff that acts hospitable, is kind and friendly - and to top it all off, the food was delicious. So thank you for sending us away, I am really grateful. ?

My second visit here, I was delighted to be in the area again. My brother took another run at the hamburger, enjoyed it just as much as last time when I was here with my family. I had the “Twelve O Clocker”, god quality ham, nice soft white loaf slices and crunchy fresh sauerkraut. Perfectly cooked soft egg on top, yum, yum! Prices are decent, service good and friendly. Next time I will come with my girlfriend and we we are going to sit in the lounge nook with a book and cup of coffee to digest a bit before we head back in the direction of our hotel.
