★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cosy hotel at the east side of a tree rich square (actually triangular). It is very nice to have a drink, lunch or dinner at a table of their terrace enjoying the shade of the trees. Their dinner was quite good. The road on the north side of that square takes you to the ferry crossing the Maas river (500 meters from te hotel) resulting in a lively but not disturbing coming and going of hikers, walking the famous Pieterpad just there, cyclists and cars. The hotel itself is clean and light, the staff is very friendly, our hotel room was spacious and the beds were of good quality. Bathroom good and very clean. Only thing: the rolling of the church bell may wake you if you're not accustomed to it, especially at midnight. But there is a charm in that as well I think.
The reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that a few times they made mistakes at the terrace we got some other table's dinner, they forgot to bring a bottle we had ordered and one or two other details.
