Bad quality of after care - no justified withhold of our deposit Unfortunately I have to write a negative review after contacting interhouse several times over the past months about the unpleasant completion of our rental period. We rented a house through Interhouse. The service of interhouse was good. Nice people that helped us with the contract. Unfortunately the house was not clean when we moved in. We cleaned the house ourselves as it was Christmas and interhouse did not have any cleaners available. During the rental period everything went ok. When we had the handover, a very friendly man checked everything. As we had the house cleaned by a professional (which was not obligated as we received the house in a different state) everything was approved and with only a broken garbage can he mentioned that this was due to the age of the garbage can and we would receive full refund of our deposit. Two months later (!) we received only 90% of our depost. When I contacted Interhouse they emailed a list with things that were supposed to be missing from the house (things like an oven dish that had never been there…) The amount of mony was not a huge amount but was absolutely not related to the things reported. I contacted Interhouse several times by Phone and by email. After months I finally spoke to the friendly man that had checked us out. He apologized and promissed us to contact the owners of the house and to get back to us as soon as possible. We never heard from him again, also not after serveral phone calls and emails. Such a shame! Maybe they are too busy, maybe they just don't care.

What absolutely GREAT people. From the start to the finish this was honestly the BEST estate agents we have ever dealt with in The Netherlands. They took us seriously as a client and treated us with great respect. We got our place effortlessly, and had fantastic service from everyone. Thank you especially to Naomi, and I will definitely recommend Interhouse Haarlem to everyone I know!

I deliberately waited for some time before I post this review. I did not want to cloud the facts with my emotions from the check out. I give 4 out 5 stars until check-in, and 1 out of 5 stars for everything afterward. An average of 2 stars. Before move in: - I scheduled 2 appointments that were later cancelled by Interhouse a day in advance - I scheduled another 3 appointments. I saw them one after the other. Easy and efficient. I liked 2 of the properties. Easy communication during contract signature and check in During the rental: - As long as you pay on time there is nothing to be bothered - The maintenance guy entered the house without notifying us. He had to repair a known defect on the bathtub - I reported defects (displaced window was blowing cold in winter). A guy came but did not take measures against it. Leaving and check out: - We had to leave earlier, and according to the contract we had pay a penalty for that. Interhouse pretended we can't. After multiple unpleasant conversation and unjustified push back we agreed that early leave is possible if we pay the due penalty fee. - A week before we leave we received invoice for next month's rent. We informed that we will not pay it because it is our last month, and had to go through another series unpleasant conversation again. People in the company have not communicated to each other that we will be leaving. - Two viewings were scheduled without notice while we were still in the house. We were told that we will have 24h notice to leave the house in good condition and be out of it, if we chose to. When we complaint for the lack of notice one of the comments was that "this is karma because we are leaving early". - It was difficult to schedule the check out, but once we did, it was very easy procedure - The return of the deposit is due up to 30 days after the end of the contract. We received it after 45 days, and few reminders from my side. - Interhouse wanted to charge us for the broken vacuum cleaner for the apartment that we never used, and that we never expected at check in nor check out. Eventually the charge was dismissed. - I had disagreed with the returned amount because of the calculation of a fee. I alleged 3 points from the contract to support my thesis, but the lady from Interhouse only used non factual argumentation such as "it is what it is", "we never had this request before". It was frustrating that nobody gave good reason pointing to the contract why the fee was charged to us.

We were very lucky to have Sabina help us with the viewing and signing during the pandemic. Will return to her if we ever need to look for the next apartment. Paperwork as an expat can be pretty annoying or weird, but she made the experience easy by being clear and answering all our questions in a timely manner!

Racist people, they only want Netherland customers. I emailed them always in Netherlands and when I saw a house with them, they asked me 3 times in 5 minutes if me or my girlfriend are from the Netherlands. When they saw we are expats, they asked us for several documents that are only asked when you buy a house, like ask for my company for a paper that says that they are willing to renovate my contract when I still have 1 year contract... Once I got all the documents, 2 days later, they told me that the house was rented when I told them we wanted the house and we already told our landlord that we was leaving the house next month. They are not professional, not polite at all. Be careful with this people, don't lose your time if you are not from this country.

The process of finding a home suited for your exact needs is something we all think we can due but then settle after a lot of frustration. This is what I opted for the easy route by getting in touch with Interhouse Haarlem and letting them guide me through the entire process. I was not at all disappointed! Their communication has always been clear and prompt, they found what I was looking for and have handled my personal information with utmost discretion and care. I can definitely recommend Interhouse Haarlem.

I want to thank the Interhouse Haarlem team for getting the perfect place for me and my fiancé. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They were very patient with all the questions we had, they provided us with tips on how to settle into our new apartment easily, and were swift with their communications. Would highly recommend!

This is a review post moving in: But for other readers, this may still help After finding the ad on funda, it was relatively straightforward arranging a viewing a few days after being responded to over phone - the prep and viewing were friendly and all good. After confirming our interest/an oral bid essentially they activated a process that took roughly 2-3 weeks before having confirmed that we would actually be able to move in. The process was quite rigid, as far as documentation went - passport checking, a very specific work contract, and various other documents. In the end fair enough, but we were still told there were other candidates so this felt a little risky. In the end it all came together, I felt they were following protocol - but believe this process could have more detailed communication to customers (for example if they will or will not be guaranteed the place with the appropriate documentation). On check-in day we were impressed with Sabina who was very nice and did due inspection of the house and was very helpful. So a thanks again for this!
