Halverwege wereldsteden, daar waar Brabant Zeeland kust, ligt als eeuwenoude parel Bergen op Zoom. Bergen op Zoom is cultuur proeven en culinair genieten in een historische ambiance. De smalle straatjes, oude pleintjes en eigenzinnige monumenten vertellen hier het verhaal van een rijk en bewogen verleden, dat al meer dan achthonderd jaar terug gaat. In het stadscentrum staan meer dan 800 monumenten, waarvan er ruim tweehonderd op de rijksmonumentenlijst staan.
Naast het bezoeken van het historisch centrum, de gezellige terrassen en restaurants kun je ook genieten van de Binnenschelde. De Binnenschelde is een recreatieplas die grenst aan het woongebied de Bergse Plaat. Hier kun je zwemmen, kanoën en windsurfen. Er is een strand aangelegd met diverse faciliteiten en er zijn aanlegsteigertjes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ very nice bar/restaurant in Bergen op Zoom right by the train station.Prices are good so is the staff.I only rate 3 stars because the last time, i was sitting outside for nearly 30 minutes before i went in to order (and i wasnt sitting in the corner or something).Otherwise their Apple-pie is also delicious :P

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This café is a wonder to the eye, a place full of art, both images and miniature sculptures, relating to Laurel and Hardy, Charley Chaplin, Elvis and classical clown images, wish I knew a more specific name for that.
I was impressed with the sight of it, a greatly decorated place, but beyond that nothing special, but also nothing bad. Go have a drink there if you're in the area, for sure.
