Saturday 27 November we had a wonderful day at a beautiful farm in Oosterwolde.
Our family took part in the cheese workshop with Esther, we were six adults and a seven-year-old child. Under her inspiring leadership, Esther taught us the intricacies of cheese making. It was not only educational but also a lot of fun! Working together on a beautiful product, we did our best!
And during the delicious lunch Esther answered the necessary questions. When our cheeses had to rest, we were given a wonderful tour of the beautiful dairy farm (our grandson enjoyed petting the cows). And then it was time, as Esther called them, with our newborn cheeses in a nice box with straw and the necessary attributes to go home to finish our homework! They are now in the cellar and we cherish them, wait another six weeks and then taste!
This tastes like more! Esther, thank you very, very much!

Esther gave us an unforgettable day. With her enthusiasm for cheese making and her extensive knowledge, she turned out to be able to answer more questions than four Westerners could ask.
Also the peace and pleasure that she radiated made it all very casual. At lunchtime, fresh bread with delicious toppings including - how could it be otherwise - five different cheeses.
Afterwards, with her uncle and aunt, we went on a tour of the farm. Enthusiasm must run in the family, because she also told a hundred stories about the ins and outs of this wonderful industry. I'm secretly a little jealous now
Below are three more photos of the brining and the start and end result after coating. Now only need to turn regularly and be patient before we can taste.
For anyone who wants a fun day out and also wants to become acquainted with two beautiful disciplines in an accessible way, it is more than worth the trip to Elburg.

β β β β β The cheese making workshop at home was a birthday gift to help my bf with his new hobby, and we couldn't be happier with Esther.
She's makes it fun to share her knowledge and her passion is contagious. We didn't only learn how to make cheese but also the logic behind the different steps; this was quite eye-opening!
The lunch was also very tasty and we had a good time.
Thank you Esther for making this workshop feel more like a sharing experience with a new friend than a course from a stranger ?!

β β β β β Esther provided a cheese making training from Lebanese Women under the Lebanese Cheese Bees Project implemented by the Center of Development, Democracy and Governance (CDDG) in Lebanon, and financed by North Farmers Lebanon (Mokhtarona).
The aim of this project was to train cheese makers in order to enable them learn new skills and generate additional income especially in view of the actual economic crisis in Lebanon.
Esther was very compassionate with all the women attending the workshop, and with her smile, she was able to remove the language barrier between them.
Esther is very knowledgeable about the cheese. The theoretical part of the worskhop was "spot on" and contained all information necessary to make Gouda cheese. Her mastery of the cheese making process shows the obvious experience she has in the domain.
On behalf of CDDG, the donor North Farmers Lebanon (Mokhtarona) and the trainees we would like to thank Esther for this wonderful experience.
Looking forward to future mutual collaboration.

β β β β β Me and my friend Mario attended her cheese workshop a week ago. Among all the websites I found in my research, hers was by far the most professional, which gave me a good first impression about the quality of her work. He is a chef who came from Brazil to learn how to make gouda cheese, and I was there to translate.
It's clear to me that she has been doing this for a long time, cause her instructions were very clear, and can get very technical and scientific, depending on your needs. Also, she provided all the materials, and emphasised the importance of hygiene in the process.
I would definitely recommend her workshops, regardless of your purpose. We had a great time that day. Thank you, Esther! Best regards from Maastricht!

β β β β β Awesome Gouda cheese ? making experiments with Esther. Really appreciate her efforts for making all the translation in English and making sure I understood all the steps and not left out. It was a fun day learning how to make cheese from scratch, watching the real cow pampering themselves to treats from above and using the raw milk from the farm to produce the cheese ? ?. Highly recommended ? Dank je wel , Esther
