About Kasteel Bouvigne

Het Bredase kasteel Bouvigne heeft een interessante geschiedenis. Sinds 1973 is het kasteel eigendom van het waterschap en het heeft daarvoor al vele eigenaren gehad.

Het is onmogelijk te zeggen hoe oud het kasteel precies is en of het er vroeger hetzelfde uitzag als nu. In 1554 duikt het voor het eerst op in een officiële akte: het testament van de vroegere eigenaar Jacob van Brecht. In dit testament is het kasteel omschreven als een statig stenen huis omgeven met grachten.

The garden is also beautiful, with the English garden, French garden and German garden sections. The environment is also wonderful, I just like to walk around the castle.
