β β β β β Extremely Disappointing experience there. In a year almost every parent of the International group took away theirs kids, including us, due to the miss management, lack of structure and support to the care givers. The worst was during a heat wave. When I arrived my son and another kid were extremely thirsty and left alone on a corner of the big playground. Both begged me for water...

β β β β β My children go this great place since they were born and I'm very satisfied. Great organization and quality daycare! People working there are great and really love the children. I leave the children in the morning with great confidence and pick them up with a smile on their faces

β β β β β Issues
- We brought our child 6 times to Koningskinderen. 5 times a different carer was responsible for our child (in the introduction period).
- Children (all around 2 years old) were left alone in the room in the high-chairs. We see this a safety issue.
- When we addressed our concerns, Koningskinderen was not willing to find a solution.
For me the worst was that Koningskinderen didn't admit that these are issues. We really tried to find a solution but we couldn't and therefore I want to share our very disappointing experience.

β β β β β Very nice location, nice building. Poorly managed placed. Our kid attended Koningskinderen for several months, and here itβs some facts that happen during while our kid stayed there:
- Heavy rotation of teachers: In our group we have seen more than 15 different teachers, mostly temp people, teachers stayed as few as 1 day up to a few months. You can take your own conclusion on how good this is for the kid. There was never a notice in advance from Koningskinderen about new teachers. Communication (if any) was always a few days/weeks after the changes.
- Very few activities: Kids are basically just playing and the teachers have a supervising role than a developing one. We had very few crafts in almost a year in the kinder garden.
- Pedagogue: It took the administration more than 4 months to arrange a meeting with the pedagogue. The pedagogue is not part of the Hilversum Koningskideren, she is located in Bussum. At the initial interview the kinder garden explained we would receive evaluation reports about our kid development but later this Evaluation report turn out to be close to impossible to get.
We had our reservations right after starting at the day care but as new parents and expats we didnβt know what to expect. Much later we learned that there was a large group of parents with discussions with the managing director of Kindergaren, Kruyt. After meeting with the director and his team where we listened to the explanations we decided to change of daycare as fast as possible.
The administration explained that all the problems where relate to the economic situation where employees change often. You will need to judge for yourself if the rotation is due to the economic situation or due to the kinder garden itself. I have my conclusion.
- The warm meal from Madaga was good.
We are now in another location very happy.
This review relates to the kinder garden section, I donβt have any opinion on the BSO.
Anyway, you might be lucky and get one of the βgood teachersββ¦

β β β β β Excellent day care with lots of facilities, lots of personal and developmental attention to the kids (and parents). Very happy my daughter goes here! Activities such as arts and crafts and playing outside. The building is beautiful, close by a petting zoo. Large playground. Extra options such as musical lessons and judo.
There was some trouble finding new staf members a while back, which made it temporarily a bit chaotic. But thats solved now (very structured, relaxed atmosphere in the group :)). Also I love that I have an app that showes how my Child is doing, what she does and eats etc during the day, and receiving photoβs. Happy child = happy parents :). Would recommend highly!

β β β β β We're quite happy with Koningskinderen. The carer is really great with our kid. They sing songs, make music, go to the petting zoo, meditate and make some crafts. Our child is very eager to be with the older children. She love to play with them and learn from them. The food is also high quality. They follow our schedule from home so that's great. A few months ago, it was more chaotic with carers coming and going. It's clear Koningskinderen now has found a better modus to be in. It's definitely improved. Also, our child is very happy to arrive there and is well fed and taken care of, so that's the most important thing for me.

β β β β β The first 9 months we had our daughter there it was chaotic mostly due to the fact that there were not fixed people at the international daycare, which caused a lot of frustration for us and crying for our baby daughter.
We addressed the issues multiple times, and eventually we managed to do a big meeting with lots of parents and the staff where we discussed honestly about everything.
Since then we are very happy, our daughter enjoys her time there making lots of friends, and we also brought our newborn daughter.
- Communication has been significantly improved and now itβs also always in English -which was a big gap in the past. On top there is a fixed person who replies in all emails almost within a day
- fixed teachers: 2 new teachers came 6 months ago and they are awesome. They provide the best feedback and our daughter loves them and feels safe and nice when we leave her with them. They are also not dutch, which makes them even more perfect match for the group, since they always talk in English only
- activities: kids always do activities, meditation and crafts which we receive very often
-app: the app is updated daily with lots of photos and a short recap of the day
It seems that the team has worked hard on the changes. In general we are very happy and we recommend it highly for expats! However we do believe that the teachers DO make a difference, so if these teachers would leave, then maybe we would consider to leave as well.

β β β β β Our daughter attends Koningskinderen international daycare since October 2018. We have in general been very happy. There was a window of a few months in summer 2019 where they struggled to retain staff and the high turnaround led to a decrease in quality, however the management put a lot of effort into improving the situation. The current staff is fixed and are both lovely with the kids, there is dedicated management for the international section and communication with parents is great.
Since short our daughter has moved to the dutch group to learn dutch, and we are really happy there too, the staff is wonderful and our daughter is super happy.
All in all I recommend!
