Begin 19e eeuw was er brand in de toren, het verhaal wil dat toen de brand van de toren naar de kerk oversloeg, de dorpelingen een keten vormden om te redden wat er te redden viel. Alle orgelpijpen werden op het laatste moment uit de kerk gehaald en bleven zo bewaard.Of dat invloed heeft gehad op de vast fraaie klanken?
In the middle of the village on the terp, completely restored at the beginning of this century, quirky open turret, which resembles that of Hindeloopen in the distance. In the early 19th century there was a fire in the tower, the story goes that when the fire spread from the tower to the church, the villagers formed a chain to save what could be saved. All organ pipes were removed from the church at the last minute and were thus preserved. Did that influence the probably beautiful sounds?
