Donjon gebouwd aan de IJssel in 13e eeuw.
Later uitgebreid met voorburcht en omwalling.
Door oorlogshandelingen oa in de 80 jarige oorlog.
Spanjolen in Zutphen. Staats gezinden in Deventer zwaar beschadigd.
In WO2 beschoten door omdat de Duitsers er hun intrek hadden genomen.
Nu een schitterende ruïne!
Je mag er helaas niet in. Want het ligt in een natuur gebiedje.
Maar ook schitterend aan de IJssel.
Een prachtig wandelgebied,et mooie vergezichten.
En een rust, mensen!
Echt erg mooi allemaal!
 Ruin Nijenbeek in Voorst.
Donjon built on the IJssel in the 13th century.
Later expanded with outer bailey and wall.
Due to acts of war, including in the 80 years war.
Spaniards in Zutphen. Statesmen in Deventer badly damaged.
Shot in WW2 because the Germans had taken up residence there.
Now a beautiful ruin!
Unfortunately you are not allowed in. Because it is located in a nature area.
But also beautiful on the IJssel.
A beautiful walking area, and beautiful views.
And a rest, folks!

unbelievable. The Netherlands at its best. And just see about 20 deer running through the floodplain...
