★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wulperhorst is een buitenplaats die prachtig is gesitueerd tussen Zeist en Bunnik. Het is een van de buitenplaatsen die liggen langs de Stichtse Lustwarande. Dit is een lange reeks van meer dan honderd buitenplaatsen en landgoederen aan de zuidwestelijke rand van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug, die zich uitstrekt van De Bilt tot Rhenen.
Rijke Hollanders richtten hier aan het einde van de 18de eeuw hun buitenplaatsen in, om 's zomers de hitte en de stank van de stad te kunnen ontvluchten.
Wie van wandelen houdt, kan hier het 'Stoetwegenpad' volgen, een klompenpad van 11 km lengte. Het pad voert door oud agrarisch gebied, prachtig aangelegde parkbossen, over historische landgoederen (zoals Wulperhorst) en langs het oude jaagpad van de Kromme Rijn. (Op een aantal delen van het pad, die over particuliere grond lopen, worden honden helaas niet toegestaan.)
Wulperhorst is a country estate that is beautifully situated between Zeist and Bunnik. It is one of the country estates along the Stichtse Lustwarande. This is a long series of more than a hundred country estates and estates on the southwestern edge of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, stretching from De Bilt to Rhenen.
Rich Dutchmen set up their country estates here at the end of the 18th century, to escape the heat and stench of the city in summer.
Those who like to walk can follow the 'Stoetwegenpad' here, a clog path of 11 km long. The path leads through old agricultural area, beautifully landscaped park forests, over historic estates (such as Wulperhorst) and along the old towpath of the Kromme Rijn. (Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on some parts of the trail that run on private land.)
