Great Wedding location. Although the service could - at times - have been faster.

The venue is incredible & the service is tops. Sunday brunch is my favorite. Great for events too.

Nice Place. Had a classic meal, which was excellent. except for another guest, who complained in an unfair way. but it seems, he will not return soon ;-))

Beautiful hotel and restaurant! We arrived around 8pm after a long days riding through Luxembourg to Germany. The check-in procedure was slightly delayed as they were attending to guests in their restaurant, but we were swiftly checked in no problem at all and shown to our rooms personally. The restaurant was stunningly rustic and the food was done to perfection. Considering we knew hardly any German and relied heavily on my Google Translate app, the staff were excellent, patient and very accomodating. The food is luxurious and elegant but we were never made to feel uncomfortable once. Highly recommended to book here! The only bad point I have was not staying here for longer!

Dined at the restaurant with my family. Big disappointment! So looked forward to traditional German food. When it arrived everything was half frozen including our side dish. Dumplings were raw. My husband replaced his order with burger and chips, something that can be had anywhere, I had nothing. We were not charged for this meal but this is not what one would expect from a restaurant priding itself on its expertly cooked local cuisine.

Before booking, I inquired about the use of sauna for guests of the hotel and they informed me that this was for free. I got a bit confused to receive a response from Landhotel Lebesnart when I sent a message to Landgut Hochwald but it turned out these are sister hotels under the same management. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised about the size of the place: two hotels, horse stables on a large plot of land. However, from thereon, everything went downhill. When we wanted to check-in, we found the reception desk empty with a sign that the attendant would be back in a minute. However, after ten minutes, nobody arrived. Because there was no bell on the desk (which is very unusual), we decided to phone the hotel. Someone answered and said that she was going to find the receptionist, which surfaced within half a minute. To our surprise, she appeared to have been sitting in an office adjacent to the reception but from where she could not see if guests were waiting. When I asked why there was no bell to alert staff, she replied in an unpleasant voice that she would not hear it anyway and why had I not used the check-in computer in the hall. Well, I tried. When using this machine, it requires your reservation number but when entering this number, I got a message that no such number exists. After a few fruitless attempts, I decided to scan my ID card and surprisingly, my reservation was found (with an entirely different confirmation number than what was stated on my booking confirmation). Next, I could complete the check-in and moved to print the keycard when an unknown error occurred and the whole system stopped. So, you arrive at an unmanned reception without a bell to give a warning and present a check-in computer that does not work, quite useless! Meanwhile, more guests had queued behind us and some were quite upset about the undue delay. Next, we went to our rooms that were on the ground floor and which were very spacious. We could park our card just outside the room which was convenient. At first, we were happy with our room until we experienced its downsides. First, you will hear every step that your above neighbours make. Second, the bathroom is huge but for some strange reason, the tiny shower cabin is placed on some platform and combined with the partially suspended ceiling it is almost impossible to stand up straight or turn your body. When a neighbour uses warm water, you will get a full load of cold water over you and when you then adjust the temperature, you will next burn yourselves—a very amateuristic setup. It was warm in the room because of the Indian summer and these rooms do not have air conditioning, which should not be a problem if you could open the windows. Well, you can open them but as there are no mosquito screens mounted, we were attacked by these insects the whole night through. What is even worse: the walls and ceilings are covered with dead insect corpses smashed against the white background by previous guests: disgusting. Why is this not cleaned up? Our friends stayed in a room next door and experienced all the same issues. Finally, when we wanted to use the sauna, the lady at the reception said we needed to pay € 10 per person. I objected and said that it was confirmed by email that this was for free. She reluctantly accepted but then continued that we could not use the dressing facilities and had we had to change in the toilet. At that point, we decided to let it go and enjoy our free time elsewhere. This place claims to be a four-star hotel but it does not meet the minimum expectations of a typical hotel guest: a staffed reception, a clean and healthy room and a proper shower. The management of this hotel should check more frequently what I going on in their facilities. We will not return.
