Ultraloper
Als marathonloper en ultraloper (Wim loopt 100 kilometer of meer achter elkaar) heeft hij goed bestudeerd wat je moet doen om zo economisch mogelijk te lopen. In 1988 wordt Wim Nederlands kampioen op de afstand 100 km. In 1989 loopt hij zijn toptijd op een marathon, 2 uur en 31 minuten. Er volgen nog vele succesvolle marathons en ultralopen. In 2016 nog loopt hij 100 kilometer om daarmee geld in te zamelen voor de Stichting Fitkids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ik wil mijn ongenoegen graag uitspreken over loopschoenen Wim Akkermans. In tijden van Corona in onze 1.5 meter samenleving presteert deze loopschool het om in groepen van 20 te hardlopen. Niet zo erg denk je, totdat Je ziet dat er totaal geen anderhalve meter afstand wordt gehouden. Daarnaast vind ik het zwaar asociaal dat bijna alle renners in zijn groep voorbijgangers passeren op het pad waarvan sommige nog geen 10cm afstand houden. Het zou op zijn minst so netjes zijn als deze “loopschool” hier ook aandacht aan zou besteden. Ik ben al wat ouder en ik voel mij hier totaal niet prettig bij. Ik hoop dat jullie hier een les uit halen. Mvg meneer D.
 I would like to express my displeasure with Wim Akkermans running shoes. In times of Corona in our 1.5 meter society, this running school performs in groups of 20 running. Not so bad you think, until you see that there is no distance of one and a half meters at all. I also find it very antisocial that almost all riders in his group pass by on the path, some of which keep less than 10cm away. It would at least be neat if this “running school” would also pay attention to this. I am a bit older and I am not comfortable with this at all. I hope you learn a lesson from this. Ms mr D.
