★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the travel like a local (or something like that) experience. It really wasn't an enjoyable experience. It was just straight boring, my wife fell asleep. It can be good but I felt like the tour guide really didn't do a good job. He was cool but you more or less had to ask him questions in order to find anything out which is great and all but there is a lot of stuff you may not know to ask. If you weren't asking questions he was pretty much silent. I would recommend avoiding this. There's better things to do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1 hour boat ride through the beautiful city of Amsterdam gave me a very good insight into the history of the city. The boat was nice and comfy and I totally forgot I was on water. The mixture of the recorded tapes and the captain's additions made the trip worthwhile. I also loved the subtle humor from both the recordings and the captain. This is a must do for everyone visiting Amsterdam for the first time. It really helps give a bird's eye view of major historic monuments.
