★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Makro is great. I like being able to buy stuff in big portions, for big groups. They have a lot of items that you cannot find in a regular supermarket. I've been there many times for those kind of times. Of course sometimes you have to look at the tags carefully with the tax and without tax prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great for quantity rather than quality. I was surprised to see that they have much more diversity of products than I expected. Prices are convenient, particularly if you go for off-brands or large quantities. Still, they do have single-item categories like children toys, outdoor barbecues, etc.
Their meat products are outstanding, with cuts that you don’t see in AH, Jumbo, etc., and sometimes not even in regular butchers.
