★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Het spoorweg viaduct, in de spoorlijn naar Vlissingen oost, kreeg deze naam omdat Mallard de codenaam was van een nachtelijke militaire operatie in het sloe tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog. (2-4-11-1944) de herdenkingsplaats van deze militaire actie ligt naast het viaduct.
The railway viaduct, in the railway line to Vlissingen east, was given this name because Mallard was the code name of a nighttime military operation in the sloe during the Second World War. (2-4-11-1944) the memorial site of this military action is located next to the viaduct.
