★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would say this is one of the most striking and modern buildings in Rotterdam.
Not only is it special on the outside (its semi-circular façade resembles a horseshoe, which I find so original!), if you go inside you will see that the interior structure and ceilings are wonderfully decorated with colourful drawings of flowers, fruits, vegetables and insects. Nature! This is the work of Dutch artist Arno Coenen.
Under that impressive dome there are plenty of little shops, stalls and bars where you can eat or have a drink. Absolutely worth it!
