★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De Armada (of Armada gebouwen) zijn een unicum in de Bossche stad. Deze gebouwen met verschillende woonlagen zorgen voor een moderne tint in de binnenstad.
Wat gelijk opvalt is dat de gebouwen gevormd zijn als zeilschepen. De Armada was een Spaanse oorlogsvloot, die nu vanzelfsprekend symbool staat voor de voormalige Spaanse bezetting.in de Tachtigjarige Oorlog.
Doordat er vroeger verdeeld werd gereageerd op het beleg van ''s-Hertogenbosch, kan de Armada verschillende betekenissen hebben voor de huidige inwoners.
Het kan een symbool zijn voor de verovering van 's-Hertogenbosch door de Nederlandse republiek op de Spaanse overheersers.
Katholieke Bosschenaren kunnen het zien het als symbool voor de overleving van het Katholieke geloof dat de Spanjaarden ondersteunde, terwijl het door de (voornamelijk Protestante) Nederlandse republiek verboden werd.
