Wij vonden het erg interessant! A really nice museum, not big but if you want to know about the history of Ameland and the inhabitants of then and now then it is definitely recommended! We found it very interesting!

Nicht nur für Regentage. Und unbedingt Zeit mitbringen, es gibt so viel zu entdecken! A quaint, lovingly furnished museum, where you can go on a discovery tour from house to house, with reading boards, audio and film contributions, also in German. Not just for rainy days. And be sure to bring your time, there is so much to discover!

Ameland is alive, also in its history. Beautiful period rooms and beautiful art because of the Art Month. The shop is a must in the coming gift month.
S	Stephan Slagter on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leuke museum met de historie van Ameland, we hebben een ons makkelijk 1,5 uur vermaakt. De moeite van een bezoek waard. Met de rolstoel zijn de kleine stenen wel wat lastiger maar het is goed te doen, als behendig bent. Nice museum with the history of Ameland, we easily entertained us for 1.5 hours. Worth a visit. The small stones are a bit more difficult with the wheelchair, but it is doable if you are agile.

Ook de Papieren wandreliëfs van Suzanne Hartmans zijn bewonderingswaardig. De reliëfs veranderen namelijk afhankelijk van de positie waarop je er naar kijkt. Heel boeiend. Nov 2021 We were in Museum Sorgdrager because of Art Month Ameland. Beautiful steel wall reliefs by Adriaan Seelen admired. The paper wall reliefs by Suzanne Hartmans are also admirable. The reliefs change depending on the position in which you look at them. Very exciting.

Vooral de film in het begin is heel informatief en door het hele museum hangen QR codes die je kan scannen voor een geluidsfragment wat je meer verteld. Jammer vond ik wel dat er heel veel aandacht besteed wordt aan de walvisvaart en dat deze een beetje verheerlijkt wordt. Wat er toen gebeurde met die dieren was vreselijk en vreed en het wordt hier alleen maar getoond als iets prachtigs en indrukwekkend. Jammer dat daar niet ook een moderne blik op geworpen wordt. Nice museum about the origin and history of Ameland. Especially the film in the beginning is very informative and there are QR codes throughout the museum that you can scan for a sound fragment that tells you more. It was a pity, however, that a lot of attention is paid to whaling and that it is a bit glorified. What happened to those animals then was terrible and peaceful and it is only shown here as something beautiful and impressive. It is a pity that this is not also taken into account in a modern way.
