★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice area for ice-skating when the weather allows for it. Various trours for ice-skating are set out and these routes are save. There are people who go of course and usually this is fine, but do realise that these are not checked for safety.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rented a canoe from here for few hours. Good way to spend a hot day. You get close to birds and some other animals and there are nice marked routes. Views are not spectacular, but typical dutch :) 30 mins from Amsterdam centre by bike, so easy to reach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We rode took rented bikes across the river on the free ferry. Then we followed a canal until we were in the country, but that was only 30 minutes. A great cheese shop in town.
