This library is amazing. It looks great, it's comfortable, has many floors, great views. If you're a tourist, you should come here for the views, it's free. Don't disturb people who are studying, though. We loved it, I wish we had something like this in my hometown.

Well, it's really good Library but it's not what I expected. I was expecting something historical, but it's modern and nice

It’s more than just a public library! There’s a cafe and a section for kids to read and play. You just have to grab a good spot and sit there to read, study or work. There’s pin drop silence and it makes for a great atmosphere to focus and do quality work. OBA also has a good collection of books in English. It’s definitely a must-visit!

Beautiful library with a lot of space to study and tons of books. The kids section is very nice too with also a cosy big reading area. At the top floor there is also a cafe and restaurant with a terrace. From there you can admire the view over the city of Amsterdam. Only negative point: I have heard that it's not safe to go study there alone, someone should always come with you to watch your things while you are in the bathroom.

One of the upper floors offers a type of roof terrace with great views over the city. And there is a restaurant in case you want some snacks.

If you want to go there to study. Well, forget it. 3 young girls were thinking they were at a cafe had a fun discussion together. Me old fashion, I thought silent was mandatory or at least required in a library. Obviously not. After asking them a few time to avoid discussion, I left. The world is crazy! People come to a library to discuss... And if you dare asking people to shut up you are the bad person. - I put 1 star for the gr8 vue on the 5th floor and the beautiful building.

Such a shame as it’s a beautiful library but let’s itself down. Security guard was extremely rude to everyone sitting apparently not in the right place (not sure how anyone was is the wrong place) and barked at us that we didn’t have a reservation. There wasn’t a single desk in use at that point so not sure why a reservation was required. Additionally apparently you cannot reserve between the hours of 12pm-1pm and the receptionist had absolutely no idea why! To top floor cafe was closed (which they should state on entrance) meaning the lower cafe was overflowing being completely exasperated by the security guard pushing everyone into it as they hadn’t made a reservation for a non-cafe seat. Frankly such a let down and won’t be returning, staff extremely rude and what’s the point in having a public library that the public can’t use?
