Prachtig punt waar je bovenop het gras ook even lekker kunt pauzeren of genieten van de omgeving. Loop je iets verder naar de Maas, dan kan je geluk hebben en ook nog eens bijzondere vogels zoals Grutto's treffen.
En daarna gezellig met t pontje oversteken, waar t aan de overkant ook weer prachtig is!
Beautiful and well-maintained monument with a whole story behind it.
Wonderful point where you can take a break or enjoy the surroundings on top of the grass. If you walk a little further to the Maas, you can be lucky and also encounter special birds such as black-tailed godwits.
And then cross the ferry by ferry, which is also beautiful on the other side!

Jarenlang kwam Canadase soldaat George Nickerson ,iedere vijf jaar onze boerderij bezoeken,waar hij ingekwartierd was tijdens WO2. En iedere keer weer bracht hij een bezoek aan dit monument om te herinneren wat hij als jonge man had meegemaakt. De verhalen deelde hij in zijn brieven en tijdens zijn verblijf.?️
A peaceful place to remember what we owe our freedom to.
For years Canadian soldier George Nickerson came to visit our farm every five years, where he was billeted during WW2. And every time he visited this monument to remember what he had experienced as a young man. He shared the stories in his letters and during his stay.?️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an important place to remember what happened not even that long ago. A place to remember and to learn. 450 Polish, English, Canadian and Belgian soldiers lost their lives or got wounded late December 1944. They fought together- one team.
