★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deze molen werd in 1858 op een kunstmatige heuvel (belt) gebouwd. Dit om nog meer wind te kunnen vangen.
Het is met 216 meter boven NAP (normaal Amsterdams peil)de hoogstgelegen windmolen van Nederland.
In 1945 brandde de molen door een ongeluk af en pas in 1980 begon de restauratie en werd daarmee de hoogst gelegen molen van Nederland.
Sinds 1980 is de molen als woning in gebruik.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This windmill is very pretty. It is up the hill from a popular restaurant and as you walk past the windmill there are beautiful panorama views toward Simpleveld. This is a private residence, so you can't climb right up to it, but there are many walking paths nearby that provide a beautiful view of the mill and surrounding landscape.
