Heel bijzonder!
Great location, super staff and fantastic food! What an experience; from the moment we (a group of 15 people) arrived at Op Oost, it was immediately a party. Bubbles and delicious snacks in the garden where chickens and peacocks scurry around. Fantastic rooms, or rather apartments, all of which are unique. In the evening the 'Served by Nature' menu in the pop-up restaurant of Op Oost in hotel Opduin. Very special! The next morning the rented bicycles were ready so that we could cycle to Oudeschild after a luxurious breakfast. From there we are with captain Frido to the fish market in Den Oever. Extensive tour of the fish market and the harbor where Frido told everything about fishing. During the trip back to the harbor of Oudeschild cava and oysters! After an afternoon that we could spend at leisure (plenty to see and experience on Texel), we went under the guidance of Jan Wolter (after a "theory lesson" about oysters) to collect oysters ourselves and eat of course, with a delicious glass of Vonkelbier. In the evening on the bike again to a beach bar nearby. The next morning another delicious breakfast and then back to the mainland. In short; we had a fantastic weekend (office trip) and the Op Oost team, but Frido and Jan also played a major role in this. Very friendly people and fantastic how passionate the two men talk about their work! We will enjoy all the impressions and experiences for a long time to come...

Stayed here from 24 to 26 July 2020. Stylish rooms, and had a very pleasant stay. Looking forward to returning when the restaurant is opened as well.

The owners come from restaurant and events/hospitality background and it shows in all of the lovely details of the property. From the "pick yourself" herbs for tea in the common garden to the high quality COCO-MAT bed mattress to the home grown breakfast basket, the entire experience was amazing.

We've been to a couple of one and two stars restaurants this year but none of them was as good as this non-star gem. Go with the eight course surprise menu and enjoy every bite. Very special: the non-alcoholic food-pairing is outstanding and even better than the already amazing wine-pairing.

To be honest we made a mistake by booking Fruits de Mer Compleet while in fact we thought we booked another menu at the location in West, so this amount of seafood was more than what we could expect, but I believe this will be perfect for the fresh seafood lovers. I saw everyone happy in the restaurant, the service was great, the drinks were great, the mood was nice too. No loud tourists. Next time we want to stay in your room too. Thank you for having us.

A fantastic getaway that you'll simply not find elsewhere! I was treated to a wonderful weekend in Texel by my girlfriend and was absolutely thrilled to have stayed at Op Oost. Among the chickens, tweeting birds and the great outdoors, this is a cozy hotel in a tranquil area. There's a beautiful garden to it with plants, well groomed shrubbery, a swing chair and outdoor terraces for all the garden rooms! We were well taken care of with all the necessary amenities, housekeeping and friendly staff throughout our stay. Breakfast was terrific and came delivered in a picnic basket to our doorstep. The restaurant on premise is a must-book too, with many of the ingredients coming from the hotel garden! If you're not dining with the rest, you'll even spot some staff plucking extra ingredients at dinner time. Overall, Op Oost is a serene, hearty hotel with reliable staff. This place is highly recommended.

Beware the application of cancellation terms at this hotel. I was scheduled to stay for 2 nights from 18-20 February and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately Storm Eunice hit the Dutch coast on Friday 18th, and I decided to cancel my stay as the ferry company said they might not be running ferries to Texel that day (as it turned out, all ferries were canceled for several hours that afternoon and the harbour in Texel flooded). The return on Sunday 20th was also in doubt due to a predicted follow-up storm system (not as severe, but which also caused delays). I (foolishly) had prepaid and was of course prepared to sacrifice the first night's stay due to the late change of plan. I asked the hotel to refund the second night, as I was providing more than 24 hours' notice, and this was refused. I even had to fight with them about refunding the prepaid breakfast charges, which they eventually did. I am sympathetic to the challenges hotels have faced during the pandemic, but given the unique circumstances (winds of 140km/hour; no ferries) I would have expected much more flexibility. I would have liked to stay at this hotel, as it has positive reviews, but I will not be giving it a second try.
