About OSCAM - Open Space Contemporary Art Museum
At OSCAM we not only curate artists and their works, but also the conversation about it. The Speak Sessions, with which we have distinguished ourselves from the beginning, are the ideal platform for that conversation. On location and online. The conversation about art and representation, and about who is able to say what, in which time and place, is in a difficult but necessary phase. The conversation about inclusion is uncomfortable for some. However, this is the time when more voices make themselves heard and claim space, also in the world of art and culture.
OSCAM’s ultimate motivation is connection between people, through art, fashion, design, craftsmanship and development. No one is infallible in the search for the right expression and exploration of ideas. We face this steadfastly, with due leniency to human limitations. Ultimately it is about the work that tells the story, that shows the layers of the human experience, that simultaneously gives and is imagination, that touches heart and head. That work is never just ours, but always yours too, and preferably ours together, because we give meaning to it together. Anyone who wants to participate without excluding others is welcome in Zuidoost, and in the Open Space Contemporary Art Museum.

This is the only place in Amsterdam, where it is possible to have a businessmeeting while ruff ridas anthem is playing in the background.
In the afternoon there are lots of events for people of all ages, for sociallicing and having a smashing time.
If you want to start your own event, with a good idea it’s a vibe!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a cool, cozy spot that's on the up tick. There's comfortable seating with various options for just lounging or getting work done. The art installations are always interesting and there are cultural events periodically for those that are culturally inclined. The café options are limited as far as baked eats are concerned but that's not a major issue. After 6pm on Thursday and Friday it morphs into Mr. Wallace which includes a slightly expanded rotation of nibbles and alcohol bar accompanied by up beat music over the P. A. It is open until 11pm on those days. It is very easy to access being that it is directly across from the metro so I would recommend it as a cool after work spot on those days. Overall I enjoy the spot and I look forward to what the future holds.
