★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tijdens de koude oorlog in 1958 gaat het verhaal dat de wachtpost Montfort alarm sloeg bij het binnenvliegen van een Russisch Iljoesjsin. Het netwerk functioneerde als bedoeld en twee snel opgestegen Duitse gevechtsjagers dwongen het toestel tot een landing in Düsseldorf. Het vliegtuig was na een Franse vliegshow op de terugreis naar de Sovjet Unie bewust van zijn koers was afgeweken om de grens te fotograferen.
 During the Cold War in 1958, the story goes that the Montfort sentry raised the alarm when a Russian Ilyushin flew in. The network functioned as intended and two German combat fighters, which took off quickly, forced the plane to land in Düsseldorf. After a French air show on its return trip to the Soviet Union, the plane was aware of its course had deviated to photograph the border.
