Maas with several refreshments

D	DieMedienManufaktur on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein prima Platz für ein Picknick, Tische und Bänke sind immer vorhanden, man sitzt im Schatten unter Laubbäumen, kann die Fähre und die vorbeifahrende Schiffe auf der Maas beobachten - und das Beste: Es kostet nichts! Dann sind da noch zwei Gedenk-Stelen vorhanden, die eine erinnert an eine Fährglocke, mit der die Fähre einst gerufen werden konnte; die andere Stele berichtet von einem Fährunglück im Jahre 1944, bei dem einige Menschen ums Leben kamen. Klingt ein wenig düster, tut der Schönheit dieser Location aber keinen Abbruch. Einfach mal hinfahren und ausprobieren. A great place for a picnic, tables and benches are always available, you sit in the shade under deciduous trees, can watch the ferry and the passing ships on the Maas - and best of all: it costs nothing! Then there are two commemorative stelae, one reminiscent of a Fährglocke, with which the ferry could be called once; the other stele tells of a ferry accident in 1944 that killed some people. Sounds a little dark, but the beauty of this location does not detract. Just go there and try.

Ein leckeres Eis bei Clever's essen. Toller Ausflug! Magnificent panorama of the beautiful city of Kessel. Park here, take the ferry over on foot and explore Kessel on the other side. Eat a delicious ice cream at Clever's. Great trip!

Also take the time to read the plaques on the (Beeselse) mesh side. There is also a measuring rod that indicates the height of the mesh in 1977.
