★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pelikaanbrug, or Pelican Bridge (Bridge 277) is a drawbridge in the Kleine Wittenburgerstraat, and spans the Nieuwe Vaart. It is one of five Amsterdam bridges with an animal theme. Viewing the bridge from the northwest on a boat, looking southeast down the Nieuwe Vaart, makes a very attractive scene with De Gooyer in the background, the tallest wooden windmill in the Netherlands.
