J	Jeremy Turner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sheets were clearly not washed (lots of hair all over the bed that clearly wasn't mine), pretty sure there were bed bugs, the bathroom was absolutely terrible, the window wouldn't close all the way and pigeons kept me up all night, and service was non-existent. Had I known how terrible this place was, I would have rather slept outside. Do not stay here unless it is your only possible option.
J	Jip Jonker on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Check in is only from 1600 to 2000 which is weird considering that Groningen is in an remote city in the Netherlands. When we where driving there we noticed the short check in time and called the pension to ask if it was possible to check in later. The owner was very unreasonable and told us to take another hotel, even though we were on our way. Eventually I was able to persuade him so we could check in later. However, upon arrival the owner did not hesitated letting us know that he did not liked it and when I told him I was not aware of the check in times, he even called me a liar. It was not a very nice beginning of our stay in Groningen. Furthermore, we were staying in room 6, which is very windy: the windows cannot be shut completely, in the winter it should be very cold! The heater did not worked, the finish of the rooms is very poorly and getting into the bedroom is quite a challenge. A last, big, complaint is the shower. After five minutes of cold water, it finally gave warm water, but it fluctuated and still wasn't very warm. Also, there is no door between the hall and the bathroom, so you can hear the shower run from every where and it does not help with the room temperature. + Location is great, you can walk within 5 minutes to the city center, there are bus stops with in a minute and the train station is 2 minutes by bus. Furthermore the beds are actually really good. Also, our bedroom was on the back-side of the pension and therefor really quiet.
