De lesruimte is een professionele studio en je mag spelen op de prachtige vleugel van Marcel. Ik was compleet blanco als beginner en moest dus alles nog leren. Wat super fijn is is dat dit leerproces ondersteund wordt door zijn zelfgemaakte virtuele lesruimte waarvan je gebruik kan maken. Deze is zeer uitgebreid, maar door de verschillende hoofdstukken weet je direct de juiste informatie te vinden. Ik heb hiermee bijvoorbeeld zelf noten leren lezen. Je kunt ook alleen een abonnement nemen op VirtueleLesruimte en zelfstandig met alles aan de slag gaan. Alle liedjes uit de lesboekjes heeft Marcel ingespeeld, dit is een goed hulpmiddel bij het oefenen thuis. Tijdens de les luistert hij ook hoe het muzikaal klinkt en word je met opbouwende kritiek gestimuleerd om de muziek perfect uit te voeren op de piano. Dit tezamen met de fijne sympathieke persoonlijkheid van Marcel maakt hem een TOP piano docent! Through Google I came across Marcel Manshands. After the first introductory lesson, it immediately felt right. The classroom is a professional studio and you can play on Marcel's beautiful grand piano. I was completely blank as a beginner and so I still had to learn everything. What's great is that this learning process is supported by his homemade virtual classroom that you can use. This is very extensive, but because of the different chapters you immediately know where to find the right information. For example, I learned to read music myself with this. You can also just subscribe to Virtual Lessons and get started with everything independently. Marcel has played all the songs from the lesson books, this is a good tool for practicing at home. During the lesson he also listens to how it sounds musically and you are stimulated with constructive criticism to perform the music perfectly on the piano. This together with the nice sympathetic personality of Marcel makes him a TOP piano teacher!

Ik heb ontzettend veel aan zijn aanwijzingen, zowel op technisch vlak als muzikaal, en hij is een prettige, geduldige, relaxte docent. Het spelen op zijn fraaie Bösendorfer-vleugel is een genoegen. Marcel waardeert het als je zelf met nieuw repertoire komt maar draagt ook goede suggesties aan en stimuleert je naar muziek te luisteren. (Hij heeft trouwens ook opnames van veel stukken uit populaire lesboeken op zijn site gezet.) Regelmatig neemt hij de tijd om iets te vertellen over de achtergrond van de stukken die je speelt. Zo wordt de pianoles ook een soort muzikale ontdekkingsreis. Verder waardeer ik Marcel's flexibiliteit. Elke week les, elke twee weken of eens per maand, dat maakt hem niet uit. We maken gewoon aan het einde van elke les een afspraak voor de volgende keer; erg prettig als je het af en toe druk hebt of op reis moet. I have been taking piano lessons from Marcel Manshanden for two years now and I am very satisfied. His directions are very helpful, both technically and musically, and he is a pleasant, patient, laid-back teacher. Playing on his beautiful Bösendorfer grand piano is a pleasure. Marcel appreciates it if you come up with a new repertoire yourself, but also makes good suggestions and encourages you to listen to music. (He has also put recordings of many pieces from popular textbooks on his site.) He regularly takes the time to tell you something about the background of the pieces you play. In this way, the piano lesson also becomes a kind of musical journey of discovery. I also appreciate Marcel's flexibility. Lessons every week, every two weeks or once a month, it doesn't matter to him. We simply make an appointment at the end of each lesson for the next time; very pleasant if you are occasionally busy or have to travel.

Dat zegt genoeg denk ik over mijn tevredenheid met zijn manier van lesgeven en Marcels toewijding aan zijn leerlingen. Ik ben geen natuurtalent, maar ondanks dat ben ik onder Marcels professionele en kundige leiding beter gaan spelen. Een groot voordeel van Marcel is dat hij precies ziet waar je zit in je muzikale ontwikkeling en daar feilloos op inspeelt, dus geen te hoge of te lage verwachtingen. Ook heeft hij enorm veel geduld bij het uitleggen van een muziekstuk; ritme, vingerzettingen, dynamiek, snelheid etc., over de opbouw en hoe je het beste een muziekstuk kunt aanleren. Iedere keer verbaas ik me weer hoe hij precies dat eruit haalt waar ik nog aan moet werken. Verder heeft Marcel een virtuele lesruimte gecreëerd waar je gratis gebruik van mag maken, deze ruimte helpt je bij het technische gedeelte van piano spelen. Heel handig bij het leren noten lezen, begrip van muziek termen, maar ook bij het vinden van de juiste muziek op jouw niveau. Ook kan je daar de vele opnames van Marcel terug vinden die aansluiten op de lesboeken, dit is een enorme hulp bij het instuderen van een nieuw pianostuk. Kortom ik kan je Marcel van harte aanbevelen. I have been a student with Marcel for 20 years now, we just celebrated with sparkling champagne. I think that says enough about my satisfaction with his way of teaching and Marcel's dedication to his students. I am not a natural talent, but despite that I have started to play better under Marcel's professional and skilful guidance. A big advantage of Marcel is that he sees exactly where you are in your musical development and responds flawlessly to that, so no expectations that are too high or too low. He also has a lot of patience when explaining a piece of music; rhythm, fingerings, dynamics, speed, etc., about the structure and how best to learn a piece of music. Every time I am amazed at how he extracts exactly what I still have to work on. Furthermore, Marcel has created a virtual lesson space that you can use for free, this space helps you with the technical part of playing the piano. Very useful in learning to read music, understanding music terms, but also in finding the right music for your level. You can also find the many recordings of Marcel there that connect to the lesson books, this is an enormous help when rehearsing a new piano piece. In short, I can heartily recommend Marcel.
