Biologisch wildrestaurant midden in de natuur
Vanaf Planken Wambuis loop of fiets je zo natuurgebied Planken Wambuis in, of de Ginkelse Heide op. Als restaurant in de natuur is het niet meer dan logisch dat we een biologisch restaurant zijn. Onze chef werkt met verse biologische ingrediënten van het seizoen, en met producten uit de streek. Bij Planken wambuis kun je dus eten ín en úít de natuur.
Ook wild neemt een prominente plek in op onze menukaart. Een van onze specialiteiten is dan ook de ‘Charcuterie van het seizoen’: een combinatie van diverse ambachtelijke vleeswaren uit het seizoen. Vergaderen bij Planken Wambuis
Ook voor zakelijke bijeenkomsten is ons restaurant in Ede de uitgelezen vergaderlocatie. Bij ons kan je vergaderen op de Veluwe. Onze Jachtkamer biedt plaats aan gezelschappen van maximaal zestien personen. Met uitzicht op de bossen, lederen stoelen en een eigen bar, kun je hier ongestoord vergaderen in de natuur. Natuurlijk zijn alle faciliteiten aanwezig: wifi, garderobe, toilet, audiovisuele middelen, airconditioning voor in de zomer én een open haard voor in de winter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the day of the commemoration of Market Garden - 75 years ago - in the presence of Princess Beatrix and Prince Charles, my wife and I enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant: Planken-Wambuis. The venison was excellent served.
The estate has its name from the inn annex farm, which was built in 1782 for Assuer Jan Torck, lord of Rosendaal. Planken (Shelves) Wambuis, located in the Reemsterveld, consisting of Huys Hof and Koorenlanden.
The name Planken Wambuis has endured time. The basic word of this is found in the Gothic word "wamba", which means belly. It is also related to the English word "womb". Also in Dutch one comes across the word "wamme" in the meaning of belly and intestines. The parallel between uterus and inn is obvious: both offer sheltered temporary accommodation. Planken Wambuis was the name given to an inn. An inn executed in wood construction. Just like many inns, especially if they were just outside the city walls. After all, they were then in the field of defense of the defenders of the city, and therefore had to be able to be quickly demolished or burned down if necessary. Moreover, building in wood was cheaper than building is stone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, cozy restaurant for dining. Meat preparation (both chicken and lamb) was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful! After a small mistake, they corrected it with a friendly compensation. Soup, dinner and dessert were all 3 prepared with the best ingredients and knowledge. Recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ September 19th. Met here for lunch with friends. Our first visit. Beautiful location with walking and biking trails around.
The indoor restaurant is very hunting lodge style with great ambience.
The weather was perfect and we had an outside table. Food was good and a very enjoyable couple of hours spent here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It had been quite some time since we were able to go out to diner due to COVID-19. What a way to get back into the game by eating at Planken Wambuis.
We had seared duck breast with houding sauce and Iberico Boston Butt with herb butter for our mains. And Sticky Coconut chocolate cake with mango and white chocolate ganache and Banoffee Pie with banana ice cream for desserts.
All the dishes were equally delicious. And the service was professional yet very friendly

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super gezellig restaurant along the N224. Booked in advance, we came Sunday late afternoon for dinner. We got a nice table with view of the garden. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really cozy, the main building has a hunter decoration while the closed garden extension is super cozy. The waitress was very friendly and we ordered our drinks and dinner. I ordered the ossenhaas Tournedos and my girlfriend the ossobuco. The plates came quite fast (restaurant was getting full) and with a nice presentation. The portions were enough to enjoy it and even have some dessert. Really a nice place to bring your date or your family. Totally recommended.
Tip: dogs are welcome! As long as they behave.
