About Proef Zeeland
De rijke geschiedenis van ons bedrijf gaat terug tot 1912. Wat ooit begon als een klein kweekexperiment van de vissersfamilie Schot is uitgegroeid tot een professionele kwekerij van wereldfaam: Neeltje Jans Mosselen. Onze kwekerij vist al jaar en dag de beste kwaliteit mosselen en heeft in de loop der jaren ook de kreeftenvisserij en de oesterteelt. De mosselen van Neeltje Jans worden geëxporteerd naar onder andere; België, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Luxemburg. Mede dankzij het succes van de mosselen werd in 2013 ons bedrijf uitgebreid met een luxe viswinkel en restaurant, genaamd Proef Zeeland. Een plek waar je de zilte smaken van de schatten van Zeeland kunt proeven en beleven. Onze viswinkel heeft ondertussen een bijna net zo grote naam als Neeltje Jans Mosselen zelf. Klanten van over de hele wereld zijn u al voor geweest met een bezoekje aan onze mooie speciaalzaak.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cheap but fresh and delicious seafood, friendly staff, dogs are allowed! Last but not least: you have GOT to try the kibbelingen. Been there twice and I can't wait for the 3rd time. Great place, period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is becoming too touristy, which is reflected in high prices and poor customer service. They do not adhere to the Covid-19 basic measures. I was there on December 30th and it was too busy and the staff was not wearing a face mask.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The seafood was very good. Nicely flavored. The only issue I had that my scol was not fried long enough, where as the row was still raw and therefore the 4 stars. People were very friendly and a very cozy place to dine in with the family. The shrimp are the best and so is kibbeling. Surprisingly kibbeling is lightly battered leaving you a lot of flesh to enjoy. I don't mind visiting once a week at this place. Traveling all the way from New Jersey USA and I love this place. Full of flavor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So sorry for the very low review I never do this, however, the Lekkerbek was not edible. People are great however the chef must have known this was beyond substandard, the taste of ammonia was so intense with a texture that made cheesecake look firm. We did talk to them before this review and thank them for listening. Places like this with high volume tourist traffic have a responsibility to represent the beautiful produce of the Netherlands with pride especially the wonderful seafood that is number one in the world.
