About Ramos Spaans
Ramos Spaans wordt geleid door Lucy Paola Ramos, geboren en getogen in Arequipa, Peru. Al op jonge leeftijd werkte zij als reisleidster in de toeristenbranche. In die jaren reisde ze ook zelf veelvuldig door haar geliefde Latijns-Amerika. Zo maakte zij bijzondere reizen door vijf van de zes landen van het Incarijk of Tahuantinsuyo: Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chili en Argentinië. Ook reisde zij in Mexico en Spanje. Het reizen door Latijns-Amerika is haar nooit gaan vervelen, tot op de dag van vandaag reist zij om het jaar daarnaartoe om te werken.
In 1986 verhuisde Lucy naar Nederland. Acht jaar later maakte zij de overstap naar het onderwijs. Inmiddels heeft Lucy ruim 29 jaar ervaring in het onderwijzen van de Spaanse taal en cultuur aan voornamelijk Nederlanders en Duitsers, maar ook aan mensen met andere nationaliteiten. Zo werkte zij in Zwolle aan het MTRO (Middelbaar Toeristisch en Recreatief Onderwijs), gaf zij les aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen was zij als docente verbonden aan de Hanzehogeschool Groningen (Faculteit Economie, International Business and Management School) en als gastdocente aan de Fachhochschule Emden-Leer (Fachbereich Wirtschaft) in Duitsland.
Mede dankzij haar enorme reiservaring die het gehele Zuid-Amerikaanse continent omvat, is Lucy een expert op het gebied van de Latijns Amerikaanse culturen. Bovendien beschikt zij over een enorm netwerk in verschillende Latijns-Amerikaanse landen alsook in Spanje.
Sinds 2015 Lucy Ramos biedt ook cursussen Nederlands aan Spaanstaligen en importeert handgemaakte Peruaanse producten uit Cusco, Peru. Op deze manier levert zij een bijdrage aan het welzijn van een opvanghuis voor tienermoeders en haar kinderen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ik begon met de Spaans cursus A1 bij Lucy, omdat ik graag naar Zuid-Amerika wilde reizen. Lucy heeft mij goed Spaans geleerd, maar ze heeft me ook geholpen met het voorbereiden van mijn reis. Ze weet precies wat elke leerling nodig heeft. Tijdens haar lessen wordt aandacht gegeven aan grammatica en spreekvaardigheid, maar ook aan de Spaanse/Latijns-Amerikaanse cultuur en actualiteit. Hierdoor leer je op een snelle én leuke manier de taal. De lessen zijn natuurlijk leerzaam, maar ook altijd erg gezellig!
 I started with Lucy's A1 Spanish course because I wanted to travel to South America. Lucy taught me Spanish well, but she also helped me prepare for my trip. She knows exactly what each student needs. During her classes, attention is paid to grammar and speaking skills, but also to Spanish/Latin American culture and current events. This allows you to learn the language in a quick and fun way. The lessons are of course educational, but also always a lot of fun!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For an internship in South America I had to reach spanish level A2 in 5 months. A friend recommended Lucy Ramos and I'm happy she did so. Learning spanish with Lucy is a lot of fun. The main advantage is her flexibility to schedule lessons and to tailor the lessons to your level and interests. Another advantage is the relativily low price per lesson. I would definitely recommend Lucy Ramos to other spanish students to be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From August onwards, I have been following Lucy's classes. First of all, she is a very engaged teacher who is passionate not only about the Spanish language, but also very much about the Latin-American and Spanish history and culture.
Lucy's teaching methods are high-quality and diverse, she makes use of all sorts of sources in order to make the learning process as fruitful as possible. During classes, we use books with different themes, in order to cater to our needs as well as possible.
Often, Lucy makes classes even more interesting by telling a relevant story of one of her personal or working experiences in Latin America. After class, during the week that follows, she sends us many interesting and helpful videos and exercises. She has a genuine interest in bringing her students to the next level, in terms of knowledge of the language, but also in terms of putting it into practice.
Every Monday night, I come home with a smile, my grammar and conversation skills have improved greatly in just two months. Thanks to Lucy, I feel confident about my Spanish in every situation. ¡Muchísimas grácias!

The classes here are tailor made and due to Lucy's approachable nature you can always ask her to give you more/less work, to increase the intensity of the material or to focus on certain areas in the classes depending on your needs.
I was really impressed with the way the classes were conducted and the level of attention given to each person. The classes are the perfect size to ensure that you can reach your potential not only regarding reading and writing skills but also in terms of improving your Spanish oral skills. Lucy makes every class enjoyable and makes everyone feel comfortable to actively participate in class. Furthermore, there is a diverse range of teaching methods used which make the classes interesting.
What I love is when you come to Ramos Spaans you don't only learn Spanish but much more such as about history and culture, which are also very important when learning a language and are often overlooked.
I'm very happy I chose to study with Lucy and would recommend her to those who want to study Spanish whether they be complete beginners, students, workers or anybody else who might be interested!
