About Recreatiepark De Achterste Hoef
Afgelopen pinksterweekend zijn wij hier voor het eerst geweest. We stonden op een veldje met een glijbaan, wipkip en tafeltennistafel. (Via telefonisch contact gereserveerd en goed geholpen.) Hier hebben onze kids zich goed vermaakt! Vanwege het weer van alles gebruik gemaakt: zwemmen in het meertje en zonnen op het strand, en spelen in de binnenspeeltuin en zwemmen in het binnenzwembad Er is van alles te doen op de camping! Het toiletgebouw zag er over het algemeen netjes uit (had het idee dat er soms (jonge) kinderen waren geweest zonder controle van de ouders). Temperatuur van de douche kon wel verspringen van koud naar heel warm. In de campingwinkel valt genoeg te halen en ook brood is er voldoende. In het restaurant helaas niet kunnen eten (was al vol) maar wel een drankje gedaan terwijl de kinderen ook daar lekker hebben gespeeld. Kortom: we hebben genoten van ons verblijf en komen zeker nog een keer terug!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Liked: We were lucky in getting one of the lake-side pitches which was great. The lake is the highlight of this site. Really good for swimming and a lovely sandy beach area for playing / sun-bathing. There are 2 swimming pools too but we didn’t use them because the kids just wanted to swim in the lake and use the spiral slide (which is also a great feature).
The lake area was very peaceful too - loads of wildlife in the evening and mornings.
The toilet Blocks were very clean and generally the site is very well maintained. Also loads of activity areas for football, ping pong, off road cycling etc etc.
Lovely local towns too - and LOADS of cycle routes through the beautiful local forest.
Disliked: There are quite a lot of long term pitches on the main site so not sure what the touring pitches are like in among the others. However, we can’t really comment because we didn’t stay in one of those.
There is an excellent information booklet provided on arrival but no English version so lots of time using Google-translate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe the indoor pool could receive an update, it’s pretty old in there, also it rains a lot in the Netherlands so it’s would be profitable, I know they earn a lot of money with that camping so it should be doable.
