De naam van deze kleine boot is ‘Hedir’, het woord dat op de zijkant staat geschreven en wat in het Arabisch donder of gebrul betekent. Ironisch genoeg is dit een stille boot, elektrisch aangedreven en met z’n 6m5 lengte uitermate geschikt voor de Amsterdamse grachten. Op deze boot organiseren we de grachtentour die laat zien hoe onze stad is gevormd door migratie, en vertellen onze bemanningsleden ook hun persoonlijke verhaal.
Maximaal aantal passagiers: 12
Over de boot is relatief weinig bekend, behalve dat deze op 29 augustus 2014 is opgepikt door de Italiaanse kustwacht op zo’n 18 mijl ten zuidwesten van het Siciliaanse plaatsje Portopalo.
Bijzonderheid: Aan boord van de kleine boot lag alleen een duikbril.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the pleasure of going on a canal cruise on May 27th. We orded pizzas via deliveroo, had the delivered to the boat dock, and then set sail with two members of the team. The tour was moving, insightful, and a truly unique way to see the city through a very important narrative.
The team was easy to coordinate with and helpful.
Our entire group treasured the experience and it was one of the highlights of our learning retreat :)

Our guide was a fantastic story teller and had was so kind to share his personal story of being a rebel, a writer, a student - and a refugee.. We also learned a lot about Amsterdam and how important immigration has been to it's development.
I would do this again any time, and recommend it to everyone!
