About Rien de Wolf VOF
Na 37 jaar lang op de Distelweg gezeten te hebben was de rek uit het pand. Het pand begon ernstige ouderdomsverschijnselen te vertonen. Ook was de ruimte nu echt te klein geworden. Er moest iets gaan gebeuren. Of drastisch verbouwen of nieuw bouwen. Aangezien het bestemmingsplan in Amsterdam-Noord ook aan het veranderen was, werd er gekozen voor een nieuw pand. Dit pand kon helaas niet op de oude vertrouwde stek komen te staan, maar op de Papaverweg.
In mei 2006 was het dan eindelijk zo ver, we konden intrek nemen in het nieuwe pand. De verhuizing was een behoorlijke klus (er wordt toch heel erg veel verzameld in 37 jaar tijd) en dit nam dus wat meer tijd in beslag dan de eerste optimistische planning. Maar na een maandje flink aanpoten was het dan eindelijk zover. Het resultaat is erg bevredigend, de winkel is veel overzichtelijker geworden, er zit veel meer daglicht in en ook de kachel werkt erg goed (dit was op de distelweg niet echt het geval). Het nieuwe pand is ongeveer 3 keer zo groot geworden en dit is goed te zien in het assortiment.
Het assortiment is behoorlijk vergroot en wordt steeds ruimer en ruimer. Zo hebben we nu bijna onze hele tent en botencollecties keurig uitgestald en onze kleding- en schoenenafdeling is bijna 4 keer zo groot geworden. Ook de watersport en kampeerartikelen zijn ongeveer 2 keer zo groot geworden als in de oude situatie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Talking mainly for the fishing tackle dept, they are well stocked and helpful. Reasonable prices. Fishing tackle is on the 2nd floor up some steep stairs. The rest of the store is a mix of outdoor/camping and boating goods. Huge range of products.

The owner went out of his way to tell me a way to how I could fix the motor myself, and made sure I had the correct pieces to do it. The other staff were very friendly in the store as well , and helped me find the several miscellaneous things I wanted to buy for my new boat. They also advised me on some other Marine stores within the Amsterdam area so that I could get exactly what I needed. I thank Rien for all of his help and would definitely recommend this store to anyone who owns a boat ;)
