★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice sized museum, quite small but not too small. And a nice blend of more 'traditional' art and newer types. It also has a cafe, but there's a few interesting looking place near by too.
4 stars because it's good but not absolutely amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We decided to visit the Rijksmuseum while in Enschede. It was informative, but only one small section of the museum was ope due to a new art installation. We were looking forward to learning more about the early Dutch works of the 16 and 17th century artists. Staff were pleasant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This small museum was unfortunately undergoing some renovation when we visited. The closed-off areas turned the visit - which would not take too much time anyway - into a short, one hour stroll. They only charged 5 euro entrance fee, because only half the exhibits were available to view. If you happen to be in Enschede for any reason, it's probably worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a very nice place to go even if you are remotely interested in art. It has two sections, one for 17 and 18th century artist and one with more recent art. I was lucky to visit on a day when they had free entrance, so if you are Enschede longer, you can plan your visit accordingly and save some cash!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small gallery, but putting on impressive exhibitions (I went for the Artemisia Gentileschi exhibition, Vrouw & Macht, and wasn't disappointed)... well organised and presented.
And they also have related activities: a music evening for Baroque music from female composers, and for younger children.
