★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is exactly the place we were looking for in Amsterdam. The fish was fresh and extremely tasty. We got a warm welcome and the shopkeeper had always a happy smile. We saw a lot of true dutch people to stop by and grab bites of fish over there. Despite the place being very small we really enjoyed our lunch there with 4 different kind of fish with traditional salad and bread.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best place, especially for foreigners, to experience eating raw haring. Great owner, very welcoming. Surprisingly, I liked raw haring. I was intimidated by it & only tried it at my last hour in Amsterdam. Good thing the shop opens early, was able to eat the fresh fish before going to airport.

The sandwich was simple but really tasty!!! The herring was not as salty as the usual one you would get in the supermarket, and it goes really well with pickles and onion! Highly recommend!
