Bujinkan leert je vooral te overleven. Naast de grote aanwezigheid van traditionele wapens is er een groot gedeelte Taijutsu. Dit leert je de juiste afstand inschatten tussen jouw en je tegenstander, Bujinkan wordt ook wel genoemd de kunst van de afstand ( The art of distance ) dit leer je vooral door de kennis van Taijutsu.
