When I went to Kai & Rodolfo, I was struggling with dancing salsa for quite a while. I had this feeling that I would… really enjoy dancing – if only I understood how to learn it… I couldn’t follow instructions during the group classes, so I had to rely mostly on feedback from partners to learn the dance routines. I also had almost no motivation to go to parties and practice – I was bored of going through the same basic moves all over again.Thinking back at the last couple of months of taking salsa classes in private with them, I really admire how they organized the learning process. Every new lesson changed the way I was dancing. I’d leave the class excited to go to parties, to practice a new technique, and explore uncharted territories. It’s been a hell of a ride – I didn’t expect to grow so fast. And the coolest bit is that the techniques and feedback that I received from them in the very first lessons, are still coming back to me, and they are even more useful now that I’ve become a lot more confident and proficient in dancing. I can’t wait to learn more from them.Last but not least, Rodolfo & Kai are very good at understanding what I need to work on next, they are kind and motivating, and their ability to adapt teaching method to what I need is truly inspiring. It’s really an honor to learn from you ! Thanks a lot !read more

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been taking lessons with Rodolfo for a while now. The last year at his own dance studio SalsAmsterdam: salsa on1, mambo on2, cha cha cha and my absolute favourite pachanga. He is very demanding, with an eye for detail and has high expectations of his students. But that’s how he brings out the best in you. For me especially that means improving my shines, overall technique and body movements. He patiently brakes things down making it easier for me to understand.
On occasion I've taken a couple of private lessons at SalsAmsterdam. I see private lessons as a good addition to group lessons. With personal attention I feel my spinning has improved a lot. Taking speciality classes at Rodolfo, like body movement, cha cha cha or pachanga gives you the opportunity to develop your own distinguished style of dancing. And last but not least: the atmosphere at SalsAmsterdam is relaxed, easy going and welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We approached Rodolfo quite late -only six weeks before our wedding- with the question if he could help us with our first dance. The timeline was short, but Rodolfo was very flexible in planning weekly private lessons with us and gave us the confidence that we would be able to make it on time. And we did! Rodolfo helped us with selecting a song, tweaking length and pace, and creating an awesome choreography of almost 2 minutes. He managed to learn us in a structured manner in 5 lessons of 2 hours. We did steal the show on our wedding, with many many compliments afterwards! We can really recommend working with Rodolfo if you are looking for an never-to-forget first dance on your wedding ?. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful experience. Honestly I always thought of myself as the kind of person that cannot dance. But Rodolfo and Kai are wonderful, they are very experienced, friendly and know how to teach, very attentive to every single detail in the basics which makes it easier to keep learning ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been salsa dancing for just over 10 years. In those 10 years I have had a lot of instructors, so I know how to recognize a good thing. SalsAmsterdam has become a home. A place where you are always welcome and where you are inspired. Rodolfo is a teacher who brings a combination of fun and love to the floor and makes you feel like the class you are in is based on you and your needs, no matter how big the class is. Although Rodolfo has a great amount of knowledge about technique, the history of salsa and music, he is always humble and loves to share. I have not finished learning here :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just positive things about this school. Such a wonderful place to enjoy my first salsa steps. Atmosphere is really cosy and made a lot of new friends. The level of the lessons is quite challenging but at the same time with a lot of fun. After few months I was able to dance with intermediate and advanced (from other schools) with no single problem at all. Last but not least, Rodolfo is a great teacher, you will notice that from the beginning (I did!!!). His level of salsa expertise is above the level of other teachers I have seen in The Netherlands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As Salsa teachers Rodolfo and Kai work together seamlessly, and they clearly enjoy what they are doing. They share a robust mix of experience and enthusiasm.
It works for me that in their classes I spend most of the time dancing, as I personally don’t learn so much from just watching or listening for too long.
They are sharp observers, but I like it that they will not interrupt me with overwhelming criticism. They give the right guidance at the right time, and it feels uplifting.
I like their articulate and clear voices, and their words are precise and to the point. They are also good listeners and they gladly answer any questions.
The classes flow spontaneously, with a good rhythm and a happy, relaxed feeling. One hour is like ten minutes and the end comes unexpectedly. I used to have a similar shock when I lived with my parents and my mother used to say: -“Stop playing and go to bed! You have to get up early in the morning”.
Most importantly, my Salsa dancing is steadily improving and it is becoming more and more fun.
